Family Weekend Brunch 2014

As the student liaison between The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Miami's nutrition club, The Student Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (SAND), I had the responsibility of communicating clearly and logically to both sides. My responsibilities included sharing updates from The Academy and The Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (OAND) to the members of SAND at every meeting, as well as encouraging students to become members of The Academy. I also attended nearly every event that SAND held, and posted monthly updates of these events to The Academy's Student Community blog. Through this experience I learned much more about The Academy and what it means to be a member, as well as the importance of communication when acting as the "middle-man."
Student Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (SAND)

I became a member of Miami's Student Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (SAND) right after I declared as a Nutrition major. The club gave me the opportunity to participate in fun events with other nutrition students, and is part of the reason why I loved this major so much. Through SAND I was exposed to various nutrition activities, such as helping with sports nutrition workshops, visiting farmer's markets, volunteering at Oxford Food Choice Pantry, and many others. I also got to help out through SAND at Miami's semi-annual Nutrition Conferences, and I was a member of the Executive Board when I was AND's Student Liaison.
To see a blog post I wrote for SAND's website!
St. Mary's Catholic Campus Ministry Board

At St. Mary's Church in Oxford, I served as co-chair for retreats coordinator on the Catholic Campus Ministry Board (CCMB). Along with my co-chair we planned and led retreats for the student parishioners of the church, and attended monthly meetings with the rest of the board. Through CCMB I gained leadership skills and learned how to function as a team with my co-chair.
